Merry Christmas Sweden!

Today on the 24th they are celebrating Christmas in Sweden. Every year since 1960, at 3 p.m., the national television has shown this film, and some other Disney films. About 4 million people are watching this every Christmas Eve and this is one of the most viewed programs during the year. It´s a Swedish Christmas tradition for over 50 years!

I hope Santa will save some presents for those who are celebrating Christmas tomorrow!

Maria has MS (multiple sclerosis)

mar

This is an amazing story from a Swedish magazine.

For five years Maria spent all her time at home, sleeping mostly, because she had MS (multiple sclerosis). The side effects of the medicines were so bad so she had to stop taking them and then the healthcare couldn´t help her any longer. She was a swimmer when she was young so she has eaten loads of carbohydrates during her life. But, when her fiancé and his brother switched over to the Paleo diet and got rid of IBS and asthma, she started to look into it a bit more. By coincidence she heard about Terry Wahls and her remarkable recovery from MS. Maria felt inspired and took away gluten, dairy, sugar, and artificial colorings from her food. She started to eat a lot of good vegetables, meat, fish, berries, nuts, butter and sometimes cheese. She also supplemented with vitamin D and omega-3. Now, after one year with “clean” food, she has so much more energy and she only has to rest once a day. She still needs crutches but she´s walking about 1 mil (6 miles) each day and her goal is to walk 178 mil (1106 miles) in one year. The dizziness is still there though. She is getting stronger and stronger each day and now she has energy to play with her children. She has also started with intermittent fasting so she´s only eating lunch and dinner, to give her body more time to heal. Now she has a life and can play with her children, and even go on vacation.

Using a similar diet her children have eliminated bad migraine attacks and eczema.

Imagine how much medicine we would have eaten if we had not changed our diet.

Here you can read more about MS and Terry Wahls amazing recovery.

Soda, heart disease, and rotten teeth!

reg

Check out this infograph about how soft drinks impact your health.

My opinion is that the foods that kill most people are:

  1. Sodas (all kinds) and other sugary foods and drinks.
  2. Food with wheat and other grains, like bread.
  3. Bad vegetable oils like canola oil, soybean oil, and trans fats.

Here is a larger downloadable version of the infograph.

Dairy – to eat or not to eat, that is the question?

milk

Dairy is a difficult topic. The dairy products we buy in a grocery store are highly pasteurized. I read an article several years ago about the process to pasteurize dairy; the article stated that the particles in pasteurized dairy products become very small and because of that many of us cannot tolerate dairy products. I can’t say for sure if this is true or not. (more…)
