March 26th 1984 – a sad day!

Thirty years ago, today, The Time Magazine looked like this:

This was a sad moment for the whole world because since then millions of lives have been wasted. We were told that saturated fat was bad for us and instead told to eat low fat products stuffed with sugar and chemicals and to use highly processed vegetable oils, which I have written about lately. We were also told to eat bread (I remember in Sweden we were told to eat 6 to 8 slices of bread each day), cereals, etc. that turn into sugar in our bodies. Yes, wheat and other grains turn into sugar in the body.

I think worst of all is seeing the “Heart Healthy” signs on these products that are filled with wheat and sugar and only serves to give us heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and obesity.

The lobbyists have done a good job for Big Food and Big Pharma!

This was the start of the obesity and diabetic epidemics. If you still don´t know what happened and why, this is a very important video for you to watch.

Good fat and why 69% of olive oils are probably fake

Here is a picture of good and bad fats and oils.

When it comes to butter, the best you can buy is butter from grass-fed animals like Kerrygold, or local. When it comes to tallow and lard, it´s the same; if the animal is fed GMO grains; not good. Grass-fed or organic; better.

I believe palm oil is okay for us but its harvesting methods are often problematic for nature and animals. Always buy Fair Trade and organic when it comes to palm oil, or just stick with butter and coconut oil.

I have already written about the benefits of coconut oil in a previous post and how you will want to eat it, use it as a make up remover or even a moisturizer. If you have dry hair take a tiny bit on your fingertips and massage it into your hair to help combat the dryness.

What about the popular olive oil? Olive oil is not as heat stable as butter and coconut oil so it’s much better used cold, and the same goes for avocado oil. But, if you want to eat chips once in a while I would buy chips with avocado oil before olive oil.

Now, what about that “69% of olive oils are probably fake statement.” When a product is hyped and becomes big business always be aware. Here you can educate yourself about olive oil and which brands to buy.

BUT PLEASE BE AWARE – WHEN YOU START TO HEAR EVERYWHERE THAT BUTTER AND THE FATS ABOVE ARE GOOD FOR YOU, IT’S NOT JUST AS SIMPLE AS ADDING THESE TO YOUR MEALS IF YOU ARE EATING HIGH CARB FOODS WITH A LOT OF SUGAR, WHEAT, STARCH, ETC.

A COMBINATION OF HIGH FAT AND HIGH CARB IS THE WORST COMBINATION FOR YOUR HEALTH!

GAPS Diet – food is medicine

Last week I wrote about the biggest buzz at the moment, GAPS Diet and Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride. GAPS stands for Gut and Psychology Syndrome and is a way to heal the digestive system.

MS and other autoimmune diseases, allergies, schizophrenia, autism, ADHD, depression, diabetes type 1, arthritis, cancer, heart problems, epilepsy, skin conditions etc.; all can be treated, according to Dr. Campbell-McBride, just by following the GAPS diet for a limited time.
