Even Morgan Stanley, the well-known investment bank, cannot be quite any longer – people’s “sweet tooth” will impact global growth. Sugar – the economic killer (and people are dying).

The Morgan Stanley report said that sugar consumption was a major culprit in both diabetes and obesity — and the worldwide taste for a sugar rush could cut productivity by more than 18 per cent over the next 20 years.

Trends for 2015

I heard about the “trends” for 2015 and it made me happy. Finally I’m trendy! For many of you this is probably “2012.”

  • Sugar is “out,” including artificial sweeteners I hope.
  • Salt and sour, as in fermenting, vinegar etc. are in.
  • Fat like butter, coconut oil, etc. are back.
  • Protein from insects is in, like bars made of cricket flour (too much sugar). Thank you, but no thank you. Not for me.

Personally I think that going grain-free is also a trend, without eating gluten-free junk food of course. Read about what to avoid from the Authority Nutrition.

Next time I’m going to write about my wish; that it will be trendy for everyone.

How to get rid of your migraines

Here he is again; Dr. Mark Hyman is giving us some great advice on how to get rid of migraines.

A couple of years ago I started to get migraines more and more often and the attacks got worse and worse. I connected the attacks with my intake of gluten. I decided to stop eating gluten and my migraine attacks disappeared. What a relief! Gluten is a big trigger for many people.

Our 5 1/2 year old is no longer falling asleep unexpectedly during the day. She is in better spirits, has no more sudden mucus-like bowel movements or diarrhea, has no more rashes on bottom or backs of arms and is overall soooo much better!!

It makes me sad to hear about children with health problems; many of them are so young and already struggling with health issues. Read some of the quotes below for answers to why many of our children, and many of us, should not eat grains. Tell me afterwards; do you think becoming grain-free is a fad diet or is it a lifestyle worth trying for a period of time to see what will happen?
